What is an eSIM?

An eSIM—short for "Embedded Subscriber Identity Module," if you're feeling fancy—is a digital version of the traditional SIM card.

Instead of inserting a physical card, you can download an eSIM directly to your device over Wi-Fi or a mobile network. It lets you switch carriers or data plans without messing around with tiny trays or that awkward little SIM-ejector tool.

In short, it does everything a regular SIM does, just without the hassle.
